EyeBuyDirect is an online-only glasses retailer. They were saying the same things as most other brands in their category: "BOGO", "20% OFF!", "REFER A FRIEND!!!!!". We set them apart with a messaging system flexible enough to cover everything from brand acts to retargeting emails, and expressive enough to show people they could "Look Like A Boss On An Intern Budget" with "Spectacles That Cost Less Than You Expectacles."
Live Action
We produced live action spots to introduce EyeBuyDirect to new customers. Set in a contemporary colorful world that brings our optimistic messages about the transformative power of affordable glasses to life. The staging is simple and modular with signature 3D elements that can be reused in additional shoots as needed.
Animated characters illuminate technical features of the products and services. They also serve as another way to tell stories when a live shoot is impractical.
We walked the walk of accessible optimistic fun with activations like The World’s First Instagram Eye Exam. 50% of Americans don't get a regular eye exam, so we put an eye test where they couldn’t ignore it: Instagram.
Programmatic Design System
We developed a scalable design system to maximize the potential of every programmatic ad platform in the universe, from targeted awareness to simple messages of product and price.
The campaign beat all benchmarks including Return On Ad Spend, Clickthrough, and Awareness, by nearly double, and built a fun, impactful identity for EyeBuyDirect in a year that became increasingly crowded with online glasses retailers.
